Our First Major Assignment :)

This one was a doozy. :) Tamera told us, "In this assignment, we will be exploring the difference between being a photographer who records a subject and one who describes it; Taking a snapshot vs. making a photograph."

My immediate reaction was, "Woah, I'm not even a photographer, I just hit the button! I was a little worried. However after a lesson and explanation from Tamera and some examples, I was able to kind of get the hang of it.  Using angles, depth, framing, focus, things like that we as pictures takers are able to illustrate a story for viewers in the same way writers use their evoking words. I hope that I was able to "create" something for you via these photos of my chosen subject.

First, let me tell you about it. When we first arrived to the island we departed the (very small) airport via an extremely large bus that I did not feel actually fit in these tiny little streets of Kamari. BUT, we made it to Studios Marios. Our lovely home for the next 30 days! :)

As we pulled into the beach parking lot (it was the only place big enough for the bus to fit into and turn around) I noticed right in front of our hotel that there was a really old bike. And bikes are a fun thing for me. My gramps had one and he loved it. We were always able to talk about it because Erik and his parents ride them too. Then gramps got a tricycle--so granny would be able to ride with him. I've ridden it a few times with him as well. So, it made me feel a little warm when I saw it. I was instantly attracted to it. (You might have noticed it in an earlier post!)

I got quite a few awkward stares and head chuckles as I was lying on the ground trying to capture the right angle but I hope that you enjoy what I have for you.

:) Peace & blessings!
Love ya Mom!
